A SEASON IN OUR VINEYARDS

    a real winter at last!

This winter is a busy one in the vineyards for our team
led by Antoine Capotosto, the vineyard manager of
about twenty male and female winemakers, where
we have almost as many women as men.
                      ♦
We started by trellising the young vines, which we
call the plants, and then repaired the posts and wires
in the premier and grand cru vines.
                      ♦
After the support, the plant; we dug about 7,000
auger holes to replant vines or replace missing vine
stocks (due Esca or other diseases, the tractor, their
age). The small, green-headed grafts - the colour of
the protective wax - were replanted three times in
December during the waning moon; this is so that
it takes root better and so that the little vine plant
    can fully recover.

                      ♦
This applies to the entire Evocelles sector in
Gevrey-Chambertin, the Prieuré in Vougeot, New trellising in the lower parts of Volnay
Puligny-Montrachet, the large 3 ha parcel in Pierres
Blanches, the two parcels of Corton-Charlemagne, the
seven of Chambolle-Musigny and those in Musigny,
le Clos Vougeot, le Clos Blanc, La Montagne Saint
Désiré, the new Marconnets vineyard in Savigny-lès-
Beaune, the two Clos du Roi, Corton and Beaune, La
Maltroie in Chassagne-Montrachet. In 2024, our focus
is on Volnay, Pommard and Nuits-Saint-Georges.

                      ♦
After 20 November, once the leaves had fallen, the
sap had descended, and the vine’s cycle was complete,
we began the meticulous work of pruning. Our ·New vine
mission is to manage the vines so that they bear fruit
as best as possible in their natural environment, so While the mild weather in early January gave rise
