2023, 2024: years come and go,
and none are alike!

Despite a lingering damp period at the end of the winter and some spells
of sub-zero temperatures, spring is finally on the horizon, light levels are
increasing and the heavy skies appear to be clearing, although the soils ♦ 2024 WINEMAKING
remain soggy, and we are dreaming of a normal year! But what does AND AGEING
normal mean nowadays?! Normal seeks a cold winter, mild spring, hot A SMALL VINTAGE WITH
summer and healthy harvests! No more, no less. A vain hope? Perhaps BIG CHALLENGES!
not, but this is definitely becoming an increasingly difficult equation

We remain confident, even if the past year has been the complete opposite AT THE VINES
of the previous one in every respect, unusual to say the least, extreme
with its minimalist harvest battered by the vagaries of the weather and
downy mildew. ♦ ORGANIC CERTIFICATION
♦ FOR LE CLOS DE
After a hugely generous 2023 and a microscopic 2024, it is impossible LA CHAPELLE
to ignore the ups and downs of a brutalised yet resilient nature, which
we support as gently as we possibly can, as is necessary or even vital if
we are to try and make beautifully vibrant, subtle wines: our continual
guiding principle.
