After almost three intense weeks of summer climes and just before the storms, the 2022 harvests reached its grand finale on 13 September. A harvest full of surprises, with the presence of both quantity and quality, despite the excessively hot dry summer.

We are still punching down the cap and pumping over the red wine tanks, and the first clarifications started last week, bringing intense colours, red fruit aromas and plenty of substance. First came the Volnay, the Savigny-lès-Beaune Les Marconnets, the Beaune Premier Cru Clos du Roi, and now the Grands Crus Charmes-Chambertin and Bonnes Mares. We’ll use the very gentle vertical press for another fortnight, before being aged in barrels in our cellars.

As for the whites, they have now all reached the cellar, tapped and fermenting, with the bung open, releasing their carbonic gas. The cellar is slowly filling up with barrels from this bountiful harvest...
